Angelica Panganiban - a Filipino American model, TV host as well as actress, is an American comedian. Panganiban, who is referred to as "the new queen of drama" by several media sources within the Philippines, is one of the most popular and well-known actresses. She was the youngest ever runner-up and was second on the podium. Angelica Hale became very sick in 2012, when she was barely 4 years old. She had double pneumonia caused by an aggressive strain of strep-pneumococcal. Angelica Hale desperately needed urgent medical attention and was put on ECMO life support at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Her condition became severe and she experienced numerous organ failures, which included the kidneys that did not fully recover. It was her new normal to have hemodialyses as well as peritoneal dialysis. Her return home was finally made after eighteen days in hospital, from the point where she was in danger of dying to the long road back to healthy. Her life had been forever changed. After one year and a half of dialysis Angelica was ready for the biggest surgery she had ever undergone- her kidney transplant. It was her mother who was the one to donate her kidney. Angelica and mom had the surgery to remove their kidneys successfully on 13 September 2013 at Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, two hospitals situated across from each other.
